I hope DnA don't hold back and have that fight end the only way it can, with the Avengers beaten into a pulp by guys fifty times more powerful.

damn, they ruined Daken. My favorite marvel book has been ruined.
except for the first few pages (Which still dont make sense cuz the wasp and quicksilver are there i get it but in the sense of the story it doesnt make sense) i liked AVENGERS cuz there were hardly anything to read LOL...Thing styled on Rulk tho hahaha
read the Iron Man tiein which was pretty good....funny how like Doom said the tie-ins give the event more gravitas than the actual main book..but this takes place BEFORE Avengers then..lol tony grabbed a bottom for himself

well, Marjorie Liu left as writer last month and this Rob Williams took over on the .1 issue.
Under Marjorie, I read Daken as this highly intelligent, old beyond his years, constantly plotting and scheming dude who could have come out of the tail end of being turned into a Byronic Hero (google it).. and simply accepted his fate. Always on the move, always reveling in the chaos that seemed to follow in his wake. Hell, he couldn't go outside without manipulating and fucking over as many people as he could. Like every day was an exercise in sharpening his mental claws. Taking on newer and bigger challenges just because they were there. A mix of dark and brooding, Machiavellian manipulator and bestial cold blooded killer.
THIS issue, under Williams.... he finds some drugs that work on him, takes a large amount of them, has sex with a dude after threatening him and kills some seemingly random person.
Where's the manipulation? The sheer chaos? This seems like the first writer to do his best to try and show Daken as a "badass teenager".
If I want to see a badass teenager, I'd watch old afterschool specials.
and the art sux.
Amazingly, this is getting overly positive reviews, so maybe I'm missing something. Whereas before, it seemed like I was the only person in the world reading the book.
Solicitations for MARVEL in september...... smh @ Marvel that's some bitch shit lol
