At around 4 P.M. last Saturday, troubled singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment. The immensely talented singer had a long bout with drug abuse and was diagnosed with Emphysema back in 2008, a diagnosis that begged for an end to smoking in particular. Winehouse’s death brings many things to mind. What did her presence mean? What does her exit mean? How do we reconcile them?
