lmao I looked at that fight... shit seems so unfair....
That was before a fighter had to go to his own neutral corner. He could just hover over a downed opponent and hit him as soon as he stood up. lol. Dempsey forgot about the rule change and it lost him a fight later.
have you ever watched Hajime no Ippo? The fight scenes from the anime are, IMHO, better than the fight scenes in any anime, regardless of genre, regardless of weapons. GOAT.
Sure, it may embellish things for dramatic effect, but it's as realistic as it gets. the end of that fight had me so amped up after all of that build up for half a season, the weigh in, the press conference... I hated hawk's guts. lol
This is the only series that has left me with my mouth open so many times, and this is one of the few scenes in ANY media that made me stand up and cheer.
Closest manga equivalent.... prolly Holyland, which breaks streetfighting down to a 100% realistic science. It almost reads like a how-to manual to unarmed street fighting from the ground up, but with a story thrown in. No chi or ninja-ing or flying or anything like that. 100% realistic.
