[Danbo]

In a world constantly haunted by demonic predators known as "Youma", the everyday life of humans is full of fear and suspicion, as these monsters easily blend into human society to hunt their hapless prey. However, in this world, there is also a mysterious organization, employing half-human, half-Youma warriors to effectively track down and kill the demons. Called "silver eyed witches" or "Claymores" after the huge Claymore swords they carry, these female warriors are eyed with suspicion and distrust by most because of their inhuman powers.

But there are many currents flowing in the shadows, from the mysterious machinations of the Claymore "Organization" and the twisted ambitions of the powerful "Abyssal Ones" to the hopes and desires of each Claymore warrior. This story follows the fate of Clare, one of the Claymore operatives as she sails deeper and deeper down the currents of conspiracies and revenge.

Volume 1
Very much how I remember it from watching the anime. The pacing really stood out though, it was so fast! Clare completed like 4 missions and went to kill her friend Elena all in 4 chapters, hopefully it slows down a bit soon. I had forgot about the black card system, I think that's a cool concept to help show how human Claymores are.

Damn, exactly how much did you read so far? I remember things did go by fast early on, I got up to like chapter 90-something in like one sitting and said to myself, "Whoa! When did I get caught up?" It's after the timeskip that things seem to slow down, or at least that's when I had to wait a month between issues lol.

All I can really talk about this early is the art. In the beginning of the story, the art is the peak quality of Angel Densetsu's, but eventually once Yagi get's into the motion of this series, it becomes tremendously awesome. The monster designs are just awesome and just from looking from Yagi's artbook you can tell that the full extent of his artistic abilites aren't even showcased in this book.

I've bought a few volumes of manga (two Claymore vols., one Naruto volume, and several Rurouni Kenshin but they got ruined) and what sucks is that the scans are higher quality than the volumes themselves. I didn't even realize how spoiled I was until I looked back at the volumes and thought it doesn't look as good. Maybe because the pages are smaller, maybe because it's on that newspaper-colored paper, maybe it's just the convenience of a computer, but the scans>>>>the paper.

I wonder when they're gonna get that legal scanlation site up...

I don't own any manga yet, so I can't compare, but I guess owning the physical copy makes up for any loss of image quality.

Have the plot from the manga for the story mode where you take control of other Claymores other than Clare from time to time, a versus mode where you can use as all the fighters in the story, and side missions where you can take missions from the organization to hunt down Yoma or kill Claymore who send you a black card. That would be sick.
