So this is kind of weird. I was just thinking about Wally Wood since I have this copy of something he did printed out on my desk. It's a guide on how to draw characters differently when a writer gives you a bunch of dialogue to work with. I was just thinking that it's criminal that people don't know who this guy is. And I looked up his birth date and time of his death to see if they were anywhere near. Today is his birthday. Freaky.
Who is he? He's the man that gave Power Girl her cleavage. The uproar about her shit costume in the new 52? Many that pissed and moaned about the change don't even realize but it was his greatness that they were throwing in the trash.
Lately companies like IDW have been reprinting his shit and collectors in the know have gobbled it up. He was one of the greats. Sadly he was too great for his own good. After guys like Kirby came along, people stopped using guys that had his look. A lot of talent nowadays will say they were influenced by guys like Al Williamson that could draw their asses off but it's bullshit. Most of them couldn't hold a candle to them or don't have the balls to draw like that.
Anyways, here's to Wally - a guy that died in obscurity for no good reason.

A minor sidenote: he designed Daredevil's red costume after he debuted with that horrible yellow and black shit. lol

Props to Amanda Connor for paying tribute. I'm going to steal her away from her husband someday.

He could really draw women. His Cannon series is collected in paperback and well worth the money for the art. Any time a woman shows up she's either putting her clothes on, taking them off, or she's just naked for the hell of it. There's a naked chick fight in it that I would bet my life has not been equaled yet.
