View Full Version : Osama Bin Laden Dead
The mastermind of the worst terrorist attack on American soil is dead, U.S. President Barack Obama announced late Sunday night, almost 10 years after the attacks that killed more than 3,000 people. Osama bin Laden -- the longtime leader of al Qaeda -- was killed by U.S. forces in a mansion outside the Pakistani capital of Islamabad along with other family members, a senior U.S. official told CNN.
U.S. officials have taken custody of bin Laden's body, Obama said. No Americans were harmed in the operation, he added.
U.S. diplomatic facilities around the world were placed on high alert following the announcement of bin Laden's death, a senior U.S. official said, and the U.S. State Department should be sending out a new "worldwide caution" for Americans shortly. Some fear al Qaeda supporters may try to retaliate against U.S. citizens or U.S. institutions.

Well, shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! You know that regardless of the input he had or hadn't on this, this is a good look for Obama's poll numbers.

News said they buried him at sea.
So as to avoid creating a monument to him as a martyr.
Or for some other reason.
Pics or it didn't happen.

White House Officials Debate Releasing Photographs of Bin Laden’s Corpse
The Obama administration has photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body and officials are debating what to do with them and whether they should be released to the public, officials tell ABC News.
“There’s no doubt it’s him,” says a US official who has seen the pictures and also reminds us that OBL was 6’4”.
The argument for releasing them: to ensure that the public knows and can appreciate that he's dead. There is of course skepticism throughout the world that the US government claim that it killed bin Laden is true.
The argument against releasing the pictures: they’re gruesome. He has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.
In July 2003, the US government released photographs of Saddam Hussein’s dead sons Uday and Qusay Hussain but not until after they’d been touched up by a mortician, making them look not quite real.

I knew people that died that day. I had great sentiment towards a lot of what happened that day. It truly was a horror to witness as a resident of NYC.
With that said, this morning walking by 42nd st on the way to get breakfast just made me lose some hope in humanity. He was beyond scum but jesus christ man the whole popping bottles and doing the macarena shit was a bit too much. At the end of the day you’re celebrating the fact that
1) Shit is about to get realer for us as a nation in terms of the threats & actions we’re about to face on the part of the extremists now.
2) Not only are you toasting the taking of a fellow human’s life regardless of how repugnant the schmuck was. He was given what he wanted instead of facing real justice. You “liberated” him in the eyes of his fucked up ideals.
This pitifully shitty cocksucker was ready to be celebrated as a martyr for his pathetic cause. That shit did us no real favors really. Had he just been seized and brought back and tortured for life I’d have been more satisfied. It was too easy.
Also It’s crazy that the same jackasses who rightfully weeped and felt disgusted when these ingrates celebrated murder on TV go around and do the same. Way to be the better man Americans.
With all that said though I do think the main culprit deserves every fucking medal that is awarded to the SEALs even if I don’t really agree with the way it was all pulled through. Oh and yeah Obama’s approval rating will get a gargantuan spike. I think he’s got the re-election in the can like I could even seriously see tea party members now voting for him and shit.

It's funny. It looks like New York is reacting exactly how the Taliban did in Afghanistan minus the burning flags, rifle waving and effigies but with alcohol and face point. Although as a cynic, you have to give to Osama. 10 year war over 3 countries after his crew took down two buildings full of thousands using the US's own jets against it's landmark. In pursuing him thousands have lost their lives, the US military's rep has been damaged by Abu Garib and Guantanamo, the destablisation of other regions has the West further stretching it's resources for international aid while trying to recover from a Western made financial collapse that actually gives credibility to Osama's claims about Western greed and corruption way back when... he might be dead now, but he sure took a lot of shit and other people down with him over the 10 years he was on the run.

"the left"? Actually I'm not politically inclined at all. Don't give a flying fuck about the left or the right. It's not a coincidence you never see me here. I generally couldn't care less about politics, I don't even fucking vote. Way to generalize though.

This was actually pretty awesome long weekend in retrospect. Royal Wedding meant a bank holiday and free food at a street party near me, UFC was on Saturday night, WWE's Extreme Rules was actually really fun on Sunday and on top of that there came the news of the death of a despot, Monday was another bank holiday off spent drinking cider and eating spitroasted pig in a pub garden.
Now let's see if we can't find Mugabe dead the same weekend Kim Jong Il decomissions his nukes and Gaddafi fucks off to Africa for the end of August when Reading Festival rolls around, try top this occasion.

Then don't come in here telling us how to fucking feel about a guy getting what he deserved.
All the Democrats I know have been bitching and moaning the last couple days because some New Yorkers decided to party with the news that they guy who took responsibility for 9/11 finally caught a bullet.
If these half-liberals took just TWO MINUTES to fucking read Bin Laden's philosophy, they'd see why we should be glad he's dead.
The man wanted to enslave the world with his religion, subject women to complete patriarchy, destroy any form of education invented after the fucking renaissance, and outlaw ham sandwiches.
You can't tolerate fascism simply on the basis that its proponents are human beings.

Don't be an idiot, I didn't come here and go "HEY YOU GUYS MUST FEEL THIS WAY!"
Just stating my 2 cents. This is what a forum is for.
For the record I tend to agree with both the left and the right on different counts. I'm a rational person, this is why I'm always a proponent of science above all and say "fuck politics" cause the political system is beyond irrational more often than not. I also lost people (plural) close to me on 9/11 so I could understand the sense of satisfaction felt by many.
I myself was satisfied that he got murked. I just think it lowers us to the level of those fucking barbarians whenever they celebrate any type of murder the way I saw some people carry on in times square on monday morning. Especially since in the end he just became a martyr for his repulsive cause like he fucking wanted. In that sense this shit was a "win" for him. That's not something to toast in my view. But that's just me.
IMO as Americans we should be better than that and never ever be comparable to those fucking animals. The way some were drinking beer and roasting burgers while waving flags and going "WOOOOO GOOOOO DEATH!!!" is no different than these fucknuts burning our flag and celebrating their latest attack. But hey that's being human. We're not all conscious enough to see there are classier ways to be satisfied with such things.
In the end it's one death, the ideals will still carry on for all fucking time. It will NEVER end he's dead but there will be ANOTHER Bin Laden. That's why I felt relief but not happiness cause at the end of the day there's not much to celebrate.

Today in the newspaper they had some interviews with Americans and one said he did celebrate, but at the same time acknowledged how bizarre it is to celebrate a person's death. And I think that most people do realize that, but most people will also take any excuse to party so there's that, lol.

A friend of mine defriended me on facebook temporarily because he was posting a status every five minutes telling people what idiots they were for being happy someone was killed because we were upset when people were killed, we still have problems in America, Obama still sucks, bla bla bla, so I post one status asking if people criticized other people for being happy when Hitler died and he gets pissy and doesn't get why I can't respect his opinion. WTF. lol. I actually wouldn't join a group in front of a bunch of cameras and chant and carry on so people could see me on the news (just seems so third world (not that there's anything wrong with that!)) but I did crack open the closest beer.

No, a forum is so we can discuss everybody's two cents. A lot of you dummies pull this "Hey it's my opinion man, leave me alone!" nonsense and then come back and cry more when somebody argues against you. It's a political debate, you pussy.
You know what makes us better than the Taliban? They celebrate when little girls get blinded by acid because they tried to learn to read. We celebrate when the acid-thrower gets shot and those fucking kids get a chance to live in civilization.

There are people in third world nations besides the taliban who have celebrated the death of US soldiers because they viewed THEM as terrorists and insurgents in their countries you cocksucking nitwit. At those times many here have been all "boo hoo wtf is wrong with them man" when they see that shit. Rightfully so IMO as we stand for honor above all as a nation.
So conversely it doesn't make it any more justified for us to go "yee haw we had ourselves some murder let's go do the safety dance in front of the white house" like a bunch of cowboys. Not when many of us whine about how others who view US as terrorists because they've bombed their countries or raided their cities killing thousands react the same way many Americans did that day balls for brains. As people who stand for respecting even our own enemies in times of war because we're fucking civilized people many should've reacted classier than that.
I think it was classless for that reason alone. We're at war, these people declared war on us since way before 9/11. Because of the sins of our past administrations on their land. What is honorable was what was allowed to happen to the guys body after the fact. That's the type of shit that shows why we're better. Why the US is the better man. "We're at war with you fucks but you know what everybody deserves a right to their sense of honor that is what we stand for as a nation and we respect that". That's class. That's the only point I'm making here. Fuck a "political debate" b this shit ain't hannity & colmes. If you don't get my point by now no amount of reiteration will get it through your dense worm ridden skull anyway.

And I happen to agree with those people.
You imagine I'm some kind of Texan Republican simply because I'm not toeing the false leftist line on Bin Laden's death, but I'm nowhere near that part of the chart.
Osama had to be purged and made an example of. Other Al Qaeda members are already surrendering. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theenvoy/20110504/ts_yblog_theenvoy/al-qaeda-member-surrenders-saudi-arabia-says
