I'm gonna try something new here. Vote for your favorite moment this week. I'm gonna try to keep this updated on a week by week basis. Choices are gonna be gathered from whats generating the most chatter here and other places..... and that way one of some of us can pick up on cool shit that we may have otherwise not read.

Also, once we get all the great stuffs in, I'll add a poll on monday or tuesday and we can vote on it.

If it garners enough discussion, I may make it a sticky.

Sound good?

ok go. :x6hiy1:

my choices so far (I haven't read much just yet)

1. Doom provoking Ben, FF #2
2. Valeria pestering Doom, FF #2
3. Reed almost George Bushing the Button, FF #2
4. Guy delivering what has to be the coldest diss in comic book history to John Stewart, GL: EW #9

I've read a lot and I fully agree on this.

I'd add in Swamp Thing returning to DC and murdering a bunch of businessmen with no concern for the environment, forcing Constantine to turn up to investigate and The Hood infiltrating Batman Inc for her Majesty's Super Secret Service.

Peter's girlfriend being pissed, drunk and about to get an Osborn Goblin tattoo is up there as well.

Krypto

Actually that reminds me, Ben trying to do his Blackbeard routine, forgetting how he did it the first time and instead doing a cheesy Jack Sparrow routine that sent the zombie pirates into a frenzy all because Pete thought it would work like the first time was actually pretty good.

Dr Doom
04-29-2011, 04:34 PM
And then Franklin comes in saying "Zombie pirates? Weird lights? What is this, Scooby Doo?" and then everybody suddenly realizes it's seriously a Scooby-Doo trick, lol.

Norman Osborn escaping the offshore Raft, getting the poisonous woman the job as his doctor for when he went to prison after turning himself in, setting it up so he's got a bunch of favours owed to him and destroying two people's careers and hopes in the process... I am now very sad at the prospect of Bendis screwing up this masterful set up for Norman's release where he's now got a freaking spidergod that eats people and a chick to give Hazmat a run for her money in his pocket.

CRIMINALLY underrated book. I still say Marvel needs more books like this and Zodiac. Villains styling on the common folks and sometimes the heroes, and the heroes dealing with the ramifications of said stylings in their own books sometimes.

Not anti-heroes like Secret Six or sometimes The Suicide Squad (depending on if Waller's on her period) mind you. I mean straight up Villain books.

it would make things more realistic. Like Wrestling. lol Comics star Faces and the Heels get the shaft, sometimes tweeners get their own books. Why not spotlight the Heels?

And no, Dark Reign don't count.

I've been saying since forever that a Dr Doom on-going could be huge if written well. After seeing how Maberry handled him in Doomwar, explaining how his operations work etc. without losing the essentials of who Doom is, I'd love to see him take that on. But for now I'm happy enough he'll get a lot of shine in Hickman's FF.

okay, I was gonna do stuff like add polls and that kind of stuff, but that's too much like work.

All Hail Doom in advance and forsooth and shit. For It Is Wednesday.

Dr Doom

What good would a poll do though? Someone would have to pick the options then, but since nobody reads all books, it's hard to find all the comic book moment of the week worthy moments.

I'm insane. I'm allowed to have nonrational thoughts and ideas. It's in my Mad Scientist contract.

Dr Doom
05-04-2011, 12:50 PM
Speaking of Mad Scientists, are you still watching Steins;Gate or what? Shit's only getting realer, boy.

On-topic, this week we have Jonah Hex, Secret Six, Annihilators and The Boys dropping, so I figure that between these four books we'll have enough moments to discuss.

Carnage has 3 so far, Carnage taking over the bio-armours and killing the users, then merging with the armours to hulk out, the female doctor removing her replacement arm with a shard of glass and Shriek then taking the arm to squad up with Cletus and Doppelganger against Iron Man and Spidey.

also this thread should have [SPOILERS] in the titel XD already came here three times seeing spoilers

Dr Doom
05-04-2011, 03:45 PM
Or we can just use the spoiler tags:

Krypto
05-04-2011, 04:59 PM
The point of the thread is to bring up cool shit in books so others can check them out. If we spoiler tag stuff, it kind of defeats the purpose of sharing that cool shit around if we're then selectively protecting it.

Jack Roller
05-04-2011, 05:35 PM
The reason we use spoiler tags is so people that do read the book but can't read it at noon like some people don't see a spoiler. The only comment I would make is to say what issue the spoiler is from. I'm all for them though.

Dr Doom
05-04-2011, 05:48 PM
Exactly what Jack Roller said, just mention the book you're referring to so people know if they've already read it or not.

So starting of, the ending of Annihilators 3:

Skrulls! Motherfucking Skrulls ready to make a comeback!

Avengers Academy

Hank getting that Tigra milf pussy sympathy sex, Mettle having Hazmat come onto him and ask him out, Finesse trying to son Reptyl only for him to flip that shit on her, Reptyl getting Komodo's attention, Speedball owning Hardball for trying to get at Reptyl out of jealousy because Komodo wants some

Very fun issue.

Dr Doom

Secret Six came through once more. Deadshot's reaction to whether become lords or slaves of hell was perfect, as were Catman's encounter with his father and King Shark's personal hell.

Either that or:

Reed's shocked reaction at the Watcher appearing. I can't remember the last time dude appeared and people actually realized how real shit had gotten.

I think we already know who wins this week, don't we all agree?

Broddie
05-28-2011, 03:41 PM
If it's John John the Planet Killah then probably so. Knowing you you're probably talking about Secret Warriors but I can't comment as I have yet to read it. I will once I'm done with JSA (which I'm reading at this very moment). I'm kinda favoring the "I do believe I like these Reeds" scene from FF #4 though; Doom's expression after Diablo spoke? that shit was too hilarious.

Dr Doom
05-28-2011, 03:52 PM
I'm talking Secret Warriors. I'm actually not too fond of Stewart killing Mogo. DC/Johns seem obsessed with taking a pivotal moment from a character's history and making it into a 'thing' (see Aquaman losing his hand also).

This week's it's been kinda thin on great moments, but I have to say the last panel of Invincible Iron Man takes it for me. Think about it.
