Now that Slaughterhouse has moved on to the greener pastures of Shady/Aftermath, someone else is gonna have to hold down the underground supergroup department. Enter Random Axe: A trio comprised of Black Milk, Sean Price, and Guilty Simpson. They first joined forces back in 2009 and dropped the song "Monster Babies." They promised an album was on the way, but then nothing ever came of it and fans began wondering if it was ever going to happen. Well, wonder no more because Random Axe's self-titled debut album (which is produced entirely by Black Milk) is dropping on June 14. How do we know for sure? Because we scurried on over to the Duck Down offices and heard it. Check out our thoughts on their upcoming album and please try and refrain from stabbing your babysitter...

Roc Marciano, Rock (Heltah Skeltah), Danny Brown, Trick Trick, Melanie Rutherford.... That guest list is tough (Trick Trick sucks though) on top of the already tough trio of Guilty, Milk and Price
This album is gonna be sick

IDK why but I'm under the impression Guilty might outdo Sean P more times than vice versa

It depends on how lazy Sean's feeling. Cause Guilty always... ALWAYS sounds hungry.

P went off on Monster Babies, but Guilt was right there
Guilty murked everybody on The Hex, though - P sounded lazy and Milk had a dope set of bars in the middle

This should be some uncut coke. Definitely anticipating, all three can bring it, and entirely produced by Black Milk? Dopeness.

Guilty went the fuck in. Guilty > P > Roc.

Random Call has been my least fav leak so far, but that beat is flames.

Ths goes above Oenirology and behind WAR imo. Shit is crazy. Every track is slaughtered and the beats knock. Real cohesive spaced out street hop feel. No doubt I can bump this straight thru at any time - even the short tracks and instroludes are dope.
And Guilty goes the fuck in. Always hungry, somewhat nimble and more focused-sounding, it plays well with Sean's lazy blunt style.

What if El-P and Black Milk got together? *does Obamaface*

yeah I'm definitely feeling it so far. I needed some ignant hip hop street shit to listen to.

You GOTTA love Guilty's flow and delivery. It's like he's totally mastered the basic art of rhyming. He's the Ryu of underground rap.

Really tough album. Wish some songs were longer but this is good if just a little underwhelming. Still, I'll be bumping this one for a bit.

this album needed more
Black Milk to balance it out. It's heard and gritty but it's in one lane. there's nothing challengign about it but what it does it does well

Shit was atrocious, b and to me the worst song on the album :apd:

@OD, I think they did right by limiting Milk to where he was; he got severely outdone and seemed out of place on cuts like The Hex and Monster Babies

it's not about matchign them it's about complementing them. Allowing you to appreciate their similar gruffness by adding a contrasting ingredient. As tight as they are they are limited in their contruction. Black Milk's smoother flow allows for more deviation.

I feel what you're saying. In that, I like Roc Marciano as a 3rd MC more than Milk.

I'm trying to understand the marciano thing. he's a pedestrian rapper to me. not a bum . but just meh.
