I've watched Hellsing and Claymore and really liked both. Is there anything similar to those that I should watch?

Probably lots of shows, but what exactly did you like about Hellsing and Claymore since that makes it easier to determine what you dig.

Lots of action and supernatural action combined with a pretty interesting storyline. Dark adult-ish atmosphere.
Just watched the first episode of Blood+ and am intrigued. I'll give it a few episodes.
Watched the first two episodes of Black Lagoon and was bored (I think I want something supernatural).

I watched the regular one. I plan on watching the Ultimate at some point (I heard they might be releasing new ones this year so I might wait for those before I start watching)

Update:
Watched the first season of Blood+. It was decent. I was intrigued sometimes and think the show has some potential. I might start watching the other seasons.
Watched Hellsing Ultimate. The last episodes were great. Can't wait for the next ones to come out.
Watched Berserk. I was expecting great things because its one of the most recommended animes, but was a little disappointed. I think I would like the Black Swordsman arc a little bit better.
I looked at the premises of some of the other shows people listed and might give Darker than Black a shot sometime. Right now I think I'm a little animed out and will probably watch the Sopranos and/or the Wire before I start watching another anime.

What about Berserk disappointed you?

It was mostly plot wise. It started to feel stale and the whole plot seemed like it was backstory to the more major conflict, which they never got to. The more interesting parts of the anime were the apostles, zodd, and how Guts became the Black Swordsman and these things weren't really addressed.

I can see what you mean, while I think Berserk was damn good for the most part, I had a lot of trouble with the ridiculously open ending too.

Well the manga is still publishing so of course the story isn't complete. The part of the story told through the anime is excellent though, Golden Age Arc is the best piece of Berserk, a claim which I think the vast majority of Berserk fans would agree on. A few bits and pieces were left out in the anime, but overall I can't think of a single action anime that is better written than Berserk. The story is of epic proportions.

IDK. It felt a little formulaic. Like every battle was the Hawks have some fight that seems difficult, but Guts is a badass and kills everyone.
I'm not saying it was bad, just I was expecting more from how many people recommend it and how highly regarded it is. The Golden Age Arc just seems to follow a very clichéd story and the things that differentiate it from other epic-type stories were never addressed.

Well Guts clearly isn't going to lose to some random soldiers. He had help during his first mission with the Hawks, got his ass handed to him by Zodd and he was helpess when the God Hand appeared. His fight with Wyald was crazy too and he got pummeled but unfortunately they didn't show that one. So it's not like he faced no opposition.
The premise is indeed cliche, we've seen the one mans rise to the top plenty of times before, but I don't find its execution cliche at all. The growth and destruction of Guts/Griffiths relationship is some of the best characterisation I've come across.

I understand what you mean. You got the wrong idea from synopses and recommendations of Berserk like I did. There's action, but that's not what you should watch the anime for (the manga, definitely). The anime's shining point is the characterization and plot development. I was about to give it up after the second episode after I realized that but I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. Still, there's some crazy fights/sequences in the manga that I doubt they could even put into an anime without heavily butchering it (like they did the anime).

Caska >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> your favorite female character in any anime. lol
but her and guts are the stars of the manga/anime. out of all the characters we get to know them the best because the most light is shed upon them. i would like to know more about griffith's past though
actually i found griffith to be very deep though, he spits mad knowlege.
