Everyone a bit familiar with Danger Mouse knows that the man loves western scores, and through his team-up with Daniele Luppi (and appearances from Jack White and Norah Jones) I suspect we might get one of the best albums of the year.

The folks over here at Planet Ill are shaking with anticipation over the Danger Mouse/ Daniele Luppi project Rome that should be hitting US shelves May 17th. Okay, maybe I’m the only one shaking with anticipation, but this is shaping up to be a grand piece of work. We’ve already heard three tracks from the album; “Two Against One,” “Black” and “The Rose With A Broken Neck.” Next up is the album closer, “The World.”

This album can't drop soon enough.

Given this a couple of spins. Good stuff. Danger mouse reinvents himself yet again. Really dig the Western sound and Jack and Norah provide good vocals. Some of the songs could be longer, but it makes for an overall good concise listen.

This album is going to carry me through the summer, the perfect mood music for a sultry summer evening.
