Statik Selektah got an album coming on June 18th, and if you didn’t know, he’s dropping the vid for the first single to get your mouth watering. 21& Over features Sean Price and Mac Miller trading bars like the gold exchange. Mic Tyson is his consistent self, takes a second to shout out Prince Namor (Imperious Rex!) and body a verse in his trademark no frills fashion.

Mac Miller holds his own with strong charisma, solid delivery and bars that are a little bit too close to Sean Price in cadence and structure to not raise an eye brow. Not saying the bars are written, but they were at least studied. Either way they are dope so for consumption purposes it’s a total win.

The production is solid Statik Selektah with the prerequisite scratched-in hook. The drums bang and there is a menacing undercurrent that is broken up by horns at the end of every 8 bars and cymbal clashes every four. There is enough activity to not get bored by the loop structure. Well done.

The vid is live at a Hip-Hop festival and absent of all pretention. Looks like everyone had fun and tit autographs are always a sign of a good time. Extended Play drops June 18th on Duck Down Music and Show Off Records. You’ve been warned.
