From Fatherless To Fatherhood

Fatherhood is a major issue in the Black community; one probably at the heart of the bulk of the issues that plague Black life. The presence (or lack thereof) of a father even filters as high as President Obama and has a profound effect on our families, our aspirations and our ability to function out in the world.

This week, Ebony.com launched a limited web series titled From Fatherless To Fatherhood, produced by Filmmaker Kobie Brown, which will run every Monday and Thursday in June. The series will feature interviews with Sony Pictures SVP and author Devon Franklin, Morehouse College President Dr. John S. Wilson, Former NY Knick great and Assistant GM Allan Houston and actor Andre Royo, recently featured in “The Wire” and The Great Gatsby.

Peep these two clips below and follow them on Facebook when you get a shot at www.facebook.com/fromfatherlesstofatherhood. I know you got the NBA Finals and all that reality TV stuff to watch but take a moment and show some love to something that really effects our community. Enjoy.
