The Musubo Retro: Foamposite Fresh

By Odeisel

With the advance of cell phones into $500 plus microcomputers comes an industry along with it to personalize them and add your own unique flavor to them, particularly when it comes to the myriad Mac peripherals. iPhones have an entire world of things devoted to personalizing the experience.

When the iPhone 5 dropped, without the traditions Steve Jobs chutzpah, the response wasn’t as overwhelming as previous releases, but that didn’t stop the protection market from rallying around the release with jazzy covers. One that caught our eye over here at the Planet was the Musubo Retro, which comes in an assortment of colors.

The idea of the design is a 1950’s microphone silhouette. The problem with that approach and connection is that not many people with the disposable income or the tech savvy are old enough to remember those monster mics. When I look at theMusubo Retro, only one thing comes to mind: FOAMPOSITES!!

You’re already that dude (or dudette as it were) with the Foams, but what if you had a cellphone case that matched them directly. That’s killer. The good folks at Musubo saw fit to bless us with a case to try out and truth to tell, it was slick. It has a rugged plastic feel with enough shine to match your kicks but not enough to be obnoxious.  It’s got the now standard dual layer protection with the silicon interior and a hard case shell. It also comes with a free video stand. Not much sizzle, but definite function.

Below are the different colorways available. You can learn more about the Musubo Retro HERE
