We showed you a few weeks ago the skill of Mello Music Group’s Uptown XO. He’s got an old school sensibility and new school hustle. This tiem aroud he’s dropping a freebie to get you guys familiar with him. The project, The Color Grey, is almost entirely produced by Ab The Pro, and features a sonic background comprised of samples from the 70s, ranging from funk to soul and disco.  XO spits reality and basic emcee business through 12 rangey tracks. his modus operandi is to combine the street, common ground element with a non preachy but potent consciousness that seeks to reach the minds of his listeners. 

The Color Grey is not spectacular, but it’s a look into a solid emcee flying under the radar whose rhymes may resonate with your experience. It’s also just the warmup for his coming album, Colour de Grey. Check him out.
