Torch Feat. Meek Mill, Wale, Gun Play, Stalley & Young Breed: Slow Down

By Odeisel

Though Triple C’s represent for the 305, member Torch is from the Bronx and his East Coast style stands out among his crew. His joint, “Slow Down,” jacks the classic EPMD and LL Cool J collaboration, “Rampage.” Track was so dope it had the Jiggaman beat boxing on “Who You Wit.” Torch and the Maybach crew, minus the boss get busy on an old fashioned posse cut and it’s refreshing for a lot of reasons.

First things first, there is nobody on this that isn’t crew. Hip-Hop collabos have become color by numbers productions where you call up Khaled to yell, get Weezy and Ross because they will  rap on anything, maybe get TI if he’s around and add rapper X over some snare drums and escalatign noise and there you have it. This shit is some throwback, pass the mic stuff where there is no chorus, everyone on the track is down with each other and slick lines ar etossed back and forth. Torch holds his own on the mic and everyone involved delivers fun verses that all fit together with no on etrying to outdo everyone else and throwing off the rhythm on the song  like they are Slaughterhouse.

It’s a nice change of pace, especially when you consider the clown shit of being 30-40 years old and fighting at an awards show. Cats need to just chill and “Slow Down.”

You know how the Planet does. Here’s the original. Two words abotu the cell phones. Brain. Cancer. APB, we’re on the lookout for browns-kinned womne in this video.
