Damn It Feels Good To Be A QB: Unless You’re Curtis Painter, Then Not So Much

By shelz.

Peyton Manning is the closest thing the United States has to royalty right now. Private jets and golf sets with top team officials.  Personal tours of state-of-the-art stadiums and prospective teammates holding their collective breath for a sign that the gawd QB will be wearing their colors.  Other signal callers get jealous when they smell his Perry Ellis.  He’s got it, the glamorous life.

I’ve never seen anything like this.  He’s not jockeying for a job.  The teams are jockeying for his attention and no one has seen him throw yet.  It’s a multimillion dollar risk that at least 3 owners will not mind taking.  That’s a lot of money, but if Chad Henne was your quarterback, what would you do?  Exactly. Manning isn’t the only play caller having the best week ever though.  How bout them Jets?

Mark Sanchez must have another set of pictures of Mrs. Ryan.  There has to be something scary in the vault for the Jets to extend his contract two years before they have to after his worst season ever. He devotes more time to his modeling career anyway, but this Jets side gig makes it easier to pick up babes. Someone said this was yet another attempt to light a fire under him. Maybe they should just set him on fire and keep it moving.  I wonder what Santonio Holmes thinks about this, but for the sake of the team I also hope he keeps it to himself.

Colt McCoy still has a job.   That will be all.

RG3 has to be flattered by the Redskins giving up all those draft picks plus some new born babies and a couple of kidneys for his services, but I can’t imagine the stress.  Then again he’s too young to realize this could all go horribly wrong and he could soon be the most hated man in DC, which is a hella serious feat.  As a Ravens fan I have no choice but to hope this relationship tanks and DC spends the next 3 years recuperating from the most expensive bust in the history of the NFL, but I almost feel bad about hoping that happens. Not.
