Mary J Blige And Belvedere Paint The Grammys (RED) To Fight AIDS

By Tora B

The multi-platinum Queen of Hip Hop/R&B and award-winning singer, Mary J. Blige, performed at the exclusive pre-Grammy event for Belvedere Vodka and (RED) partnership featuring the Special Edition Vodka, (BELVEDERE) RED. The purpose of the event was the ongoing fight against the deadly AIDS virus, which has taken so many lives since its advent in the late 1970s early 1980s.
The profits of sales from the event were donated to the Global Fund (the world’s largest charity with programs fighting HIV/AIDS in Africa). The crowd roared with excitement when Mary hit the stage and sang one of her biggest hits, “No More Drama.” As she sung the heart-felt song, you could feel the wave of passion from performer feeding the crowd as the followed along. Mary’s gut-wrenching performance is a one of a kind experience and her heart and soul were on full display. Blige also gave a riveting medley of her greatest hits including, “Just Fine,” “Family Affair,” and her classic rendition of U2’s Bono’s single, “Onem”

As for what motivated her to sign on to the show, Blige responded: “I’m delighted to be supporting (Belvedere) RED in their fight against HIV & AIDS in Africa. It is one of the most devastating issues faced by millions in Africa and if we can raise awareness with this event and encourage people to buy (PRODUCT) RED, we’ll be one step closer to an HIV / AIDS free generation in 2015.”

It’s always great when music matters. Mary J tore the house down, and the global fight against HIV/AIDS got a little push from the folks at Belvedere and (RED).
