Mysonne: Back To Reality Part 1

Planet Ill-You and Game are real cool and Game has a tight-knit relationship with T.I. In the past you’ve been quite vocal over T.I.’s cooperation with law enforcement. Have your feelings for T.I. changed due to your friendship with Game?

Mysonne: My feeling towards the shit T.I. did will never change, because I live by a certain code and he was brought up under that same code and the code is not for everyone, but coming from our environment and moving how we move, we can’t violate. He understands the rules and he basically undermined the entire code by doing 1-800 TIP commercials. I don’t have anything personal against him, but if you going to stand for a street dude then do it properly.

It’s like if we both doctors and I watch him operate on somebody and he is doing it wrong and there are other doctors watching and thinking his actions are right then I going to step in and say it’s wrong. I know better that is why I am vocal about it. There are people in his camp that know better, but don’t speak up because it their boss or whatever, but you’re just contributing to a downfall. For me, to be a big fan, I have to like you as an artist and I fucked with T.I. I believe music is a reflection of oneself and I can never rock to a song if I don’t respect the artist, because I listen to what you say and I have to believe and connect you as an artist and as a man.

The thing that really bothers me is that there are people in the street that look-up to T.I. and view his actions as guidelines and whether we like it or not, we [rappers] are the new leaders of the communities. There is no more Martin Luther King or Malcolm X; we are the new leaders, so we have to uphold certain rules. I have no problem with T.I. and I wish him the best, but I just can’t respect his action. As for Game, me and him are cool and I can’t speak for him. If he is cool with T.I. then that’s on him.

Planet Ill: You always speak about “keeping a real and being real to yourself.” How do you feel that the hottest gangster rapper was a Corrections Officer?

Mysonne: Basically, it’s like, I have best friends that are police officers and they’re realer than some of the street cats that think they trapping. I was in jail with COs that were bringing cocaine in jail and making money, so it’s not like all of officers are squares. Now I don’t know what Ross was doing when he worked as an officer. So basically the fact that you were a CO does not take away from the fact that you’re a real nigga and hustler. For a dude to have been a correctional officer can’t diminish his credibility; it’s not enough. I did time, so I know I can spot a real nigga and I know the reality of the situation.

Planet Ill: You have always been a loyal dude and you have even been loyal to 50 Cent for his Bang Bang Boogie cosign. I remember you called out Lord Tariq for showing up to a Rick Ross video shoot, but now you are signed to 50’s rival. So, isn’t that sort of contradictory?

Mysonne: When I called out Lord Tariq, it was never about showing up to the video shoot. At that point, we were affiliated with 50 Cent and Lord Tariq knew that Ross and Fif’ were beefing at the time, so for you to go to that video shoot it’s like you picking sides. 50 never gave me any money, but he gave us a stamp and pretty much used us to get rid of Fat Joe. He got the entire Bronx to get at Joe in order to make his beef easier, so he utilized us, just like he used Beans [Beanie Sigel] against Jay and that is what 50 does. I am aware of that and I have no problem with it. I wanted to remain neutral in the whole beef, because I’m cool with 50, Joe and Ross. Actually, Ross was the first nigga that jumped on a song with me when I got home from jail. Me and Ross are cool, but we all came to an agreement not pick sides. Ross coming to the Bronx and shooting a video is not only a diss to 50, but it’s like he’s shitting on the whole New York and it makes us look weak by him [Lord Tariq] showing up. Now the situation with Black Wallstreet, was basically Game reaching out to me. 50 had every opportunity to sign me and I even sat with him for two hours and he never mentioned to come fuck with G-Unit. So at that point, I was like me and 50 are friends, but I have to do what’s beneficial to me and my family.

You’ll never hear me diss 50, because we cool and I never let business interfere with personal feelings just like when Bang Bang Boogie were dissing Fat Joe, I never said anything foul about that man. So my situation with Game, was basically him wanting to sign me, because he liked my music and thought I was one of the hottest artists in New York and I just want to help feed your family. I came up with so many artists like 50 and no one reached out and for a nigga from the West coast to reach out and, was basically him wanting to sign me, because he liked my music and thought I was one of the hottest artists in New York and I just want to help feed your family.

I came up with so many artists like 50 and no one reached out and for a nigga from the West coast to put me on records and take me on tour is crazy. Therefore the Lord Tariq situation and me signing with Game is totally different, because there was no business involved with Lord Tariq and Ross. When he did that, he involved all of us. He put the entire Bang Bang Boogie movement in jeopardy. I love Lord Tariq like a brother, but I just think he handed the situation poorly. When I signed with Game, I was no longer associated with 50. That entire situation was over. At the end of the day it’s all business and I have no problem with no one.

Planet Ill:It seemed like right after that, Bang Bang Boogie disbanded.

Mysonne-Yeah definitely and also the whole movement deactivated because certain niggas went to jail. My niggas S-One and Hocus are on trial for conspiracy and murder charges. They were locked-up right after that situation. Me and Cuban [Link] decided that we couldn’t do business with Lord Tariq, because the way he dealt with that Ross thing. The situation bothered me so much that I had to remove myself from the situation and business. I couldn’t do any business with Lord Tariq, because the poor way he dealt with situation and that gave a lot of insight on his true character. At the end of the day, I can’t involve myself with that type of character.
