Common has released another song from The Dreamer, The Believer and “Sweet” is anything but.  The aggression here is odd to me after so many years of kumbaya Common, but some hoe ass nuccas obviously pissed dude off.

No ID provides a backdrop that kicks in with some electro bursts and a bluesy guitar riff.  Then it opens up into something a little more sinister with full, cloudy synth and a simple drum.  Common takes the cake though, as you sift through all the growling “mutherfukkas” and “bishes” to figure out whom he could possible talking about.  If you care.

I’m just mad this dude said, “I’m King.  Observe the throne.”

Your thesaurus game is killer Common.  Really.

“Sweet” sounds suspiciously like regression (see Common Sense) and a lot less like a vegan in a crocheted hat, but the execution is great. I think his new album is going to full of surprises.  I just hope they aren’t all in the tradition of WTT, or KRS One for that matter. Wa da da da, wa dada dada da bitches.  Enjoy.
