The Planet has been up on the Yellowbirds for a while now. Visionary Sam Cohen has crafted some of the most creative vids in recent memory. Not that MTV would take notice. Their music is extremely retro with a lot of flower power ingrained in their DNA. Excess is not a part of their shtick, which will not engender them to today’s pop-heavy consumption, but when care and time is put into art, it should always be lauded. Even if music isn’t your particular cup of tea, think of them like Missy Elliot: sometimes you dig the music, sometimes you don’t, but you’re always ready to watch. In any event, here’s the new video, “Beneath The Reach Of Light.” Directed by Erez Horovitz.
