Nina B was my first rapper interview years ago. Back when Justo was still walking this Earth, I caught up with her at the Mixtape awards. I don’t even remember the venue but it was noisy as hell and I had a hand recorder with an extended mic. Low tech, my friends, low tech. We actually got the interview done in the girl’s bathroom (shout to all the girls that didn’t wild out on me, was just trying to get it in.)Anyway, I’ve watched her find herself as an artist over the years and hone her craft to the point where she can legitimately hold down a project by herself and survive without the novelty of being a female rapper. It’s always nice to see any of the people we interview go further and chart their evolution but you always remember your first.

So here she is with her latest work, The Bo$$tress 2: Bitch I’m Back with guests like Torae and our main man Skyzoo, solid production and song concepts. No trying to be hard for the boys or slutting herself on the mic. The tape goes hard without becoming self parody. Solid work. Get in a few listens and judge for yourself.
