Gucci Mane And 50 Cent Link Up For Recently

By shelz.

50 and Gucci? Okay.

They are two of the hardest working men in Hip-Hop right now.  Gucci spends as much time in the studio as Fab does on Twitter and 50 has been able to marry quantity and quality with his recent song marathon.  So I suppose this is a match made in heaven.

“Recently” starts with an eerie synth line and a lil digital string plucking.  The obligatory snare is there, but the 70’s lounge-like organ works in a fun house kind of way.

Gucci rolling out his narrative first is wise considering 50 is a much more capable emcee.  Last thing you want is to have 50 burn through a 16 just for your performance to come off like a wet match.  He starts with a little homage to Eazy E and then moves into a story about what Gucci always talks about; broads, getting arrested and money.

Then 50 pulls up the rear to co-sign all the money talk.

I’m filthy fukkin nucca rich.

That sounds like a lot of money.

There are convertible Lambos and pinky rings purchased by his two main streams of income, the music and the trap.  He’ll take your head off if you play with his dough and his trips to Germany to cruise the autobahn are as common as your trips to the grocery store.

Money makes odd bedfellows and this is a perfect example, but it works. The two cash titans want to share a little of what they have done “Recently.”  So take a listen and hate accordingly.

That Eazy E line?  That’s from “Still Taking Shit” just in case you were interested.
