Eminem And Team Shady Redux Say Quit – You Don’t Stand A Chance Against The 2.0 Boys

By shelz.

Team Shady (Eminem, Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf) has released their first official suggestion to everyone who thinks they can complete in a Hip-Hop market that includes the 6 Horsemen.  Slob on their knobs… then quit.  I guess so you will have more stan time at your disposal.

Boss man Marshall gets top billing on “2.0 Boy”s with the rest of the crew acting as features.  That’s interesting considering Em has by far the worst verse.  Maybe the students have already supplanted the instructor. But don’t let that throw you, the worst verse in this lyrical skirmish is still better than much of what we nod our heads to these days.

The track is nothing exciting.  It’s a bit of horror house piano pounding similar to the tune of chopsticks with some background strings and a little thump.  Another layer of strings floats in and out along with what sounds like choral wailing.  It’s all so dark and spooky.

There are 6 emcees and lots of hurtful language.  Plenty of chest pounding, less misogyny than normal, and oodles of flows and cadences roll through the posse cut.  Royce is a bit more subdued than normal.  Budden throws in some bars that the less intelligent of the Hip Hop gene pool might not get until tomorrow.  Crooked I is more style than substance, but his delivery is strong and Joell does it all, better than most, as usual. Yelawolf ties it together and puts on the bow with more Bama growl and less intonation.  He sounds like Catfish Billy high on his own supply, but in a good way.

You would be kind of crazy to bet against Team Shady right now.  Even if one falters there are five other able-bodied emcees to pull his weight.  I smell a problem. Maybe there is something to this whole slob and quit theory.  Sorry.  “2.0 Boys.”  Enjoy.
