The Planet, along with Chicago’s own Square-One of B-Side Radio, have joined forces to bring you the week in review in Hip-Hop and current events, along with the occasional special guest and some music to keep you moving through your day.
This week’s episode of Ill Side radio takes a look at the aftermath of the 2010 elections and whether or not the Tea Party is good for American politics. What were the reasons behind the Democrats’ loss of so many seats? Did Obama miss an opportunity with lack of communication or will a Republican-led House bent on stonewalling give him an excuse during the balance of his term?
We also discuss Rhymefest’s entry into Chicago politics with his ongoing campaign for Alderman and whether or not that’s a good thing for Hip-Hop.
On the Hip-Hop side, we discuss “King” Hammer’s recent diss of Jay-Z and its accompanying video and whether Jay-Z is actually going to respond to it on wax. Why is Bill Clinton do happy that Lil Wayne is out of jail? Should we happy he knows Weezy or disturbed? George Bush called Kanye‘s comments about him one of the “darkest moments of his Presidency.” Is that hyperbole or was Jr. Bush justified in feeling the way he did?

We sat down with DuckDown/Jamla recording artist Skyzoo and got the exclusive on what his new album will be named. Skyzoo talked about the differences between his debut, The Salvation and his follow-up collaborative album Live From The Tape Deck as well as working with a multitude of producers versus one (!llmind) for the length of an album.
Sit back, relax, and take a ride on the Ill Side.
