Planet Ill Breakdown: Bizzle- “Truth Music – God Over Money”

By shelz.

The void between gospel and secular music has become almost non-existent.  With Kirk Franklin, Salt and God’s Property stomping hard enough to put Christ in the club, The Winans and Mary Mary putting gospel lyrics to R&B tracks and Prince giving you some JW wisdom over his patented funk, spiritual songs have bled out of Sunday morning radio and into the top 40 stratosphere.

Even Hip-Hop, in its grittiest incarnation, has a strong faith-based contingent.  We know a few rappers who have produced pieces of devotion in the midst of their normal hardcore fare including DMX and Scarface.  However, the Jesus peeps that rock gospel rap 24-7 are coming out of the woodwork and they letting off shots along the way.

The most recent is Bizzle (as if Jizzle wasn’t bad enough) and he obviously has an issue with the upper echelon of rap la familia that he put on full display in “Truth Music-God Over Money.”  He goes in on Jay, Beyonce, Kanye and Rick Ross over Ron Browz’ most prized possession, the “Ether” track.  Does he ether Jigga?  No. Does he ether Bey or Kanye?  Not really.  However, he gets it in on Rick Ross, but the double R is a very easy target.

He never smiles cuz he has to pretend he’s a threat/but only thing that should be on his record is identity theft

That’s good right?

In “Truth Music” there are a lot of secret organization comments, bars about “Lucifer” and a suggestion that what’s going on in the streets is the fruit of evil rap’s loins.

Most of us are over the Illuminati banter.  The Freemason claims should have been put on the back burner years ago. Once the chatter crept out onto the net and spread like i-wildfire, of course more clues would drop.  Good press is good press, bad press is good press too.

Anyway, Mr. Bizzle’s flow lays back on the beat.  He doesn’t display the ability to vocally dance around the track and lumbers at certain points, but it’s only one song.  However, he spits his truth and honestly he’s better than a lot of the folks on the radio these days.  That’s not saying much though.

C’mon homey is that how we living now?/Is that how you convinced yourself you ain’t living foul?/Comparing yourself to people you think are worse than you?/Compare yourself to Christ and you will learn the truth.

Word Bizzle.  Word.

Here is the original.  Bizzle is no Nas so I’m not trying to suggest you compare the two, but at Planet Ill we are all about options.

  1. I definitely understand his approach and message and hey, getting famous by taking shots at established names is what got 50’s name in lights. What I can’t get down with is more gimmick rap. Christian rap is the same as trap rap, the same as Miami coke rap, etc.

Tell me a story about you, as a rapper, as a person and the things you see around yourself. As someone that is not a Christian, I don’t understand how taking shots at other rappers falls under the Christian mantra. To me, rapping about an invisible dude in the sky and what he is supposedly about gives you just as little cred as someone that raps about the trap game and wasn’t on the corner.

  2. Wowwww! Lolz illuminati are on fire already,,,MR BIZZLE 2 thumbz up 4 xposin d illuminti. God bless u dude. Braaaaaaa

  3. How is rapping about God the same as rapping about selling drugs?!? And he’s not invisible..you just can’t see his work because you are in the blind.. sounds like a personal problem to me! If u could just open your eyes and give him a chance, you will see lots of things you’ve never noticed! Just because you can’t wrap your head around something doesn’t mean it’s not real.. it just means you are over-rationalizing your life away! Don’t be a drone and think you’re too cool or smart for God. Believing that there’s nothing greater than yourself is narcissistic and foolish. This may sound like a jab, but it’s not meant that way! It’s tough love.. ‘when I say to a wicked man you shall surely die for your sins..and you do not speak out and warn him…that man will surely die for his sins and you will be held accountable for his blood”
