What’s the word to all of our Planet Ill readers, supporters and visitors during this last full week of January 2010 – hope the week’s been going well everyone so far!
It’s time for another session of Indiesent Exposure, here at Planet Ill where we deliver quality music downloads & info from quality independent music artists from all types of artists who deserve more exposure and props for keeping their various genres lively & non-cookie cutter status.
Hopefully, Indiesent Exposure will give your ears some temporary respite from some of the audio wackness, boredom and/or iCoonery that bombards the masses each day via the mainstream radio and TV airwaves definitions of Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, World Music, etc.
If you like what you hear in this section PLEASE support these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc.
At the end of the day, music artists needs to eat like everyone else for putting in their work somewhere down the line.
It’s one of the numerous Haiti Earthquake Relief music compilations that are out now worthy of support as just a stand-alone great music work (some top notch indie Hip-Hop artists from all over the world are represented on here) as well as actually being about doing direct help (all proceeds will go to directly to the CARE Foundation) – give it a listen and support if you dig it:

Let’s get into it:
JUDAH x Dub MD – The Amber Rose Instrumentals (Download)
Washington DC representative & music producer JUDAH has been doing his thing for a minute creating sound landscapes for indie and mainstream Hip-Hop and R&B world for heads such as Wale, Cormega, Tabi Bonney, C. Rayz Walz, Mick Boogie, Raheem DeVaughn, Mr. Cheeks, Pastor Troy and many more throughout the years.
JUDAH’s latest project is an excellent all instrumental beat session inspired by model and Kanye West’s girlfriend/sweetie/PR move Amber Rose and done in conjunction with UK DJ Dub MD.
While some out of hate of Amber from the gate will not even try to listen to a collection called The Amber Rose Instrumentals and for real, that would be a huge mistake.
There are some really nice beats JUDAH places up in this collection that highlight lush soul music samples (vocals, violins, the entire 9), head nodding drum beats and hand claps that heads should be able to zone out to solo and some of your local MCs will probably try to hijack for their “I Love the Ladies” song on their mixtapes. This collection only shows that JUDAH has a lot in the mix for 2010 and beyond for some dope creative music.
Check out more of JUDAH’s upcoming music projects with his Strange Music record label and for others either over at his official official Myspace Page at http://www.myspace.com/JudahBeats, official Twitter Page (http://www.twitter.com/JudahOnTheBeat) or his official blog, “For the D.M.V. Only” (which highlights lots of other musical talent in the DC Metro area as well) at http://www.ForTheDMVOnly.com.

Adult Swim & Beaterator Presents: ATL RMX (Download & Preview)
While Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim block is known for all sorts of crazy late night grown folk cartoons (when Family Guy is on the low end of the “WTF, they got away with that?!” scale they’re taking it there – just check out an episode of Moral Orel), they’re also known for putting out some pretty cool mixtape and album projects through their indie label, Williams Street Records.
The Adult Swim & Beaterator Presents: ATL RMX is one of their free releases that dropped a little while ago that took some of the best Atlanta Hip-Hop/Rap artists’ music and remixed them with everything from straight ahead Boom Bap style Hip-Hop Beats to crunchy Rock, House & Electronica grooves.
Overall, while some combos on here just seem odd as hell, this is a pretty nice re-imagining of the source material songs by the producers on this project that I think most can get with and enjoy.
Check out more of Adult Swim’s music projects through their label, Williams Street Music, on the free to $$ cost scale over at http://www.AdultSwim.com/music.

Nsango Malamu – Embenga Yemba LP (Download – no minimum donation)
In existence since the mid-2000s, Czech Republic’s (yes, ALL that way in that corner of the European Union) Nsango Malamu collective specializes in playing spiritual and traditional folk songs from the Congo and Angola.
Nsango Malamu (which in the Lingala language means “good news” or gospel) utilizes drumming and singing in the Lingala, Kikongo and Swahili languages.
The music displayed on this album is definitely more on the mellow or cool out side of things throughout most of it’s tracks featuring medium to high tempo rhythms and singing in conjunction with some straight up acapella songs.
Overall the Embenga Yemba LP from the group is a nice solid musical entry that ably plays it’s role in keeping of traditional African Music alive for the masses to acknowledge, learn (we know numerous forms of music genres are based off of this form of music period…Hip-Hop is just the latest form) and enjoy.
Find out more of what’s going on with Nsango Malamu over at their official website at http://www.NsangoMalamu.cz.
