What’s going on to all of our Planet Ill reader peoples, supporters and such!

It’s time again during the week for another session Indiesent Exposure – the weekly writeup and music download piece here on Planet Ill were we strive to give some well deserved exposure to quality artists doing their thing throughout the independent music circuit.

Pretty much every music genre gets covered in this section at one time or another – Hip-Hop, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, House, etc. – to keep the audio goodies a bit on the diverse & lively side.

Hopefully post by post, we’ll give your ears some temporary respite from some of the audio wackness, boredom and/or iCoonery that bombards the masses each day via the mainstream radio and TV airwaves.

If you like what you hear in this section (some of which will hopefully be new to folks), PLEASE support these artists as much as you can in the future – hit up their websites, purchase some product, go to their shows, etc., especially since at the end of the day, they need to eat like everyone else for putting in their work somewhere down the line.

For this pre-Thanksgiving a.k.a. “We Fed The Pilgrims NOW Look What Happened” (for my folk in the United States) weekend, we have a few singles that are touching on the Soul, Rock, Latin House & Hip-Hop portions of the Music spectrum.

Check out everything below from these talented artists and let us over here Planet Ill know what you think when you get the chance – hope everyone enjoys the selections!

Here we go:

Nneka – The Uncomfortable Truth (Download)

Soul Music artist and Hip-Hop MC Nneka has a lot of diverse influences in her music & message, ranging from her youthful and cultural experiences from her native Nigeria to her adult travels & academic studies in Europe that eventually landed her in Germany.

Her current EP, The Uncomfortable Truth, is a dope project has just dropped in the States after years of album and touring success in Europe.

The title track from this project is one of my personal favorites due to the blend of the UK Soul, Motown Sound and Jazz vibes with the vocals and the production.

Find out more about what’s going on music and otherwise with Nneka over at her official website at http://www.NnekaWorld.com.

Dynas feat. Slick Rick – Family Jewels (Download)

South Florida’s Dynas has been making a lot of positive moves as a dope Hip-Hop MC representing his area through the independent Hip-Hop scene throughout the past few years.

Whether through his own solo releases via his official label of Badgramma Records and other indie labels, Dynas’ quality live shows or with his collaborations with folks from everyone from DJ Jazzy Jeff to Big Gipp of the Goodie Mob, I think it’s straight that the man definitely has a nice creative streak that keeps what some folks look at as the old school “Boom Bap” type of rap style and production current enough for all sorts of people to groove too.

The track “Family Jewels” which features the always steady on the mic Slick Rick is from the album The Apartment that out now via a collaboration with international distribution powerhouse BBE Records.

Grab up more of the Dynas music, find out about tour schedules and such over at his offical MySpace Page, http://www.myspace.com/Dynas.

Res – On My Way (Download)

Black Rock artist, vocalist & songwriter Res has been on the music scene doing her thing for a minute from her first album in 2001 via MCA with How I Do (an early 2000s classic in my personal opinion which as even critically acclaimed, but another case of “we don’t know how promote Black Folk AND Rock Music on a mainstream level” scenario went down).

While folks are waiting on the next official major album label release (*side eyes Geffen since they were the last known label she’s been on*), Res has just dropped a free independent 10 track album for download for her fans and others to see what’s she’s been up to as of late on the solo music end called Black.Girls.Rock!

People might have heard rough copies of some of the songs via her MySpace page throughout the years, but this is the official deal with mastered mp3s, digital booklet (with pictures, lyrics, production credits, etc.) and other sorts of goodies.

One of my favorite tracks from the album made it here on Indiesent Exposure wtih “On My Way” has a nice soaring & inspirational vibe to it with some solid guitar rock and drum grooves.

You can get your free copy of Black.Girls.Rock! as well as find out more of what’s going on with Res on the solo music tip and her work with the supergroup Idle Warship (with Talib Kweli & Graph Nobel) along with other things over at her official website at http://www.the1Res.com.

Federico Aubele – Otra Vez (Gianma House RMX) (Download)

I’m pretty late on the Latin Pop music of songwriter and guitarist Federico Aubele and was given his EP of house remixes from the Amatoria album, from one of my peoples earlier in the month.

After finally getting a chance to listen to it, I’m definitely feeling the Buenos Aires representatives with his singing and instrumental skills.

I only wish I knew that “Otra Vez” means (am not fluently bilingual, shamefully), but the song is pretty is a pretty dope house groover for the lounge or club set that shows Federico can craft some pretty nice aural pleasures for the people.

Check out more about what’s going on with Federico Abuele, his upcoming album, tours and things over at his official website at http://www.FedericoAubele.com.
